Sacred Poetry: Experiencing the Bliss of Rumi’s Poetry
Sacred Poetry: Experiencing the Bliss of Rumi’s Poetry
A moment of recognition, where the divine spirit brings you closer to the ever-existing knowing within you, opening the door to listen to the whispers of your heart:
This is the world of sacred poetry.
A world of infinite love, blessed by the divine.
Sacred poetry is meant to be experienced. The practice of sharing, reciting and chanting poetry goes back to ancient times. Savoured delicately, in moments where a magical line of poetry allows for the mysteries of the universe to reveal themselves to you. These precious moments contain within them lessons long-learned by our ancestors – asking us to listen closely and to allow the vibrations of the words to deliver their message through your heart, rather than through the mind.

Anyone who has strayed from their true self
Seeks to reunite with their essence, their true wealth
-Rumi
These two lines of poetry are taken from the opening of the Masnavi, where Rumi recognizes that any expression of life longs for the great return to the original source of divine love. Powerful and potent words that prepare our consciousness for this timeless journey to connect our hearts to the divine.
I’ve been profoundly moved and transformed by the power of Rumi’s great collection of poetry, The Masnavi and Divan-e-Shams. His poetry has been a sanctuary of divine love that I always find myself coming back to in order to find meaning in life and connect with the divine spirit that is omnipresent. Rumi’s collection of poetry is a continuous form of poetry that has no real beginning nor end, mirroring the expansiveness and eternity of our universe. It contains stories within stories, exploring the interconnectedness of all beings within the complexity and vastness of the cosmos. In words that melt your heart in the bliss of the moment, his divine message brings you a step closer to the essence of truth within your own consciousness. Sometimes, a few lines of poetry may be used as a mantra for a period before the depth of the meaning is revealed to you. When such poetry is read with patience and grace, the experience can create an opening to greater realms of existence.
It is my highest purpose and greatest joy to bring you closer to the heart of Rumi, where, together we can transcend cultural and language barriers and touch the depth of our own existence. It is my intention to connect you to his words in both the original language of Farsi, as they were recited centuries ago, and in translated form in English – where words have been carefully curated and often contain my own translations – in a way that honours the original essence of his message.
My Rumi one-on-one sessions are a result of years of close study, countless hours of sitting and meditating with his poetry to cultivate the close connection that I now feel in my heart. As a lifelong student of Rumi’s work, I am on my own journey to continuously expand my own awareness and connection to navigating the inter-connectedness and influence of his work. And as a part of this journey, I feel called to share with you what I feel deeply in my heart – which has been a true source of healing and connection.
During these sessions, we start with a prayer to allow for you to sit with your intention for the session. As we finish the prayer, I will guide you in selecting a tarot card. This card will reveal a poem that I will recite for you carefully and will begin to dive into the meaning and message behind the poem. Using intuitive guidance, I may spontaneously bring other lines of poetry to help reveal something deeper as we connect to the wisdom of the message that is being delivered to you. These sessions are meant to open your heart to Rumi’s universe and to help you dig further into the truth that already exists within you.
100% of proceeds received from poetry sessions will be donated to onetreeplanted.org

I love to co-create spaces where poetry is experienced the way it has always been shared since ancient times – recited, chanted or sung with music. Ancient civilizations often used poetry for religious and ceremonial purposes.
